Hulunbuir Grassland
Northeast of Inner Mongolia lies the Hulunbuir Grassland, borders with Russia and Mongolia. It maintains the most complete forests, wetlands, grasslands ecosystem in the Ergun River basin. Most of the area is flat wilderness, except the Greater Xingan Mountains to the east. The area has over 6.7 million hectares of pasture, over 13.3 million hectares of forests, around 500 lakes and some 3,000 rivers. On this vast primeval wilderness, it is time to relax, refresh and reflect. You can enjoy the sea of grass on horseback, circle the lake on a lele cart (Mongolian style ox-cart), go fishing or hunting in the forest. The best time to visit Hulunbuir is early July to mid August.
